Service Line Director of Network Infrastructure Solutions Division
Richard Kluge is Service Line Director of the Network Infrastructure Solutions division of Ericsson Inc. The Network Infrastructure Solutions team provides consulting services, representation in national standards bodies, development of equipment requirements, special reports on electrical and physical protection issues, industry seminars, and guidance to carriers on the evolution of the telecommunications network infrastructure. Richard has managed technical updates to major industry GR documents including NEBS documents GR-63 and GR-1089, data center document GR-3160 and manufacturing document GR-78. In the past, Richard served as technical editor for the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) standard for temperature and humidity requirements for network equipment in controlled environments, as well the ATIS standard for earthquake resistance. Richard currently represents ATIS on the NFPA committees for fire alarms, telecommunications facilities, ITE data centers and energy storage systems. Richard is also actively contributes to the NFPA 1 Fire Code and the ICC, International Fire Code (IFC). Richard sits on the UL Standards Technical Panel for 9540A, Test Method for Evaluating Thermal Runaway Fire Propagation in Battery Energy Storage Systems. Richard holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey.
